About Nice to be Nice
A small, community-led charity from Kent, England, working with one school and the families around it in Sanyang, The Gambia.
What we do
Nice to be Nice CIO is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, charity number 1213147. Our charitable purposes are advancing education and relieving poverty in The Gambia.
Most of our work happens with St. Paul's Nursery & Primary School, Sanyang, The Gambia. We listen to what the school and families say they need, then raise the money to make it happen — classrooms, meals, books, equipment and support for children who might otherwise miss out.
How we work
- We start with what the school asks for, not what we assume they need.
- We buy locally wherever we can, so money stays in the community.
- We report honestly, including when things take longer than planned.
- We protect children's dignity and privacy in everything we publish.
Our story
Our earlier public updates described work with Badumeh Lower Basic School in The Gambia. Today our focus is St. Paul's Nursery & Primary School in Sanyang.
